West Orlando rapper 9lokknine has been incessantly compared (sometimes fairly, sometimes not) to Kodak Black ever since he arrived on the scene in 2018. When Kodak was sentenced to 46 months in prison in November of 2019, many even began referring to 9lokknine as a ‘replacement’ Kodak.
Well, the now 19 year-old rapper is making his own name, and he wants everyone to know it: on “False Facts,” 9lokknine raps, “I had to switch the flow ‘cause they was saying I was trying to be somebody kid.” He brings a truly unique, strikingly energized flow that is sometimes anarchic and sometimes melodic—all over a beat with a five-note horn sample. And somehow… it’s perfect.
