Amidst his most recent slew of controversial news, Kanye announced that he will be releasing his next studio album DONDA: With Child. Though initially planned to release July 24th, DONDA is rumored to be another Christian album blessed with the musical prowess and brilliance of Dr.Dre. In dedication to his mother, Donda West, Ye's upcoming project will hopefully make up for the mediocrity we've been hearing over the last few years. As a result, let's take a look at Kanye's Top 5 Leaks in the anticipation that some of these tracks may land on DONDA.
80 Degrees / Hurricane
Produced by FnZ, Ronny J, and of course, Kanye West himself, 80 Degrees/Hurricane was first heard on Kanye’s Instagram in a video posted on September 14, 2018. Since then complete versions with vocals from Ant Clemons have leaked online alongside the rest of Yandhi. Yandhi was the album Kanye announced in 2019, which later turned into Jesus is King.
Slave Name
Slave Name, leaked November of 2019, finds Kanye teaming up with Ant Clemons once again to exclaim his newfound freedom. Over wailing guitar riffs Ye leaves a powerful message for his fans and his family saying “Saint, you don't really need a last name, North you don't really need a last name And Chicago, yo, and Chicago!”
Awesome
Awesome, leaked in 2015, is a passionate love song which Ye performed live at the Met Gala in 2013 to his wife Kim Kardashian. The song never officially released but complete versions have been online for years making it a classic for any fan of Ye. During a 2017 interview with Jennifer Lawrence, Kim explained the track was recorded during Kanye and JAY-Z’s Watch the Throne sessions in 2011.
Dreams
Dreams, leaked on October 12, 2019, also enlists the vocals of Ant Clemons as Kanye delivers a series of introspective verses addressing J Cole, Kanye’s Trump hat era, and Drake. As Ye raps his verses seem more like a stream of consciousness as multiple ideas on a number of issues are yelled onto the track almost leaving him out of breath.
Alien/Space X
Alien/Space X, leaked in 2019 and since then multiple versions have appeared with features from Young Thug, Quavo, Offset, Kid Cudi, and the Ant Clemons. Versions online have all of these heavy-hitting artists on the same track and maybe the song Young Thug was referring to when we tweeted “Yo @kanyewest is my verse about the devil still on Jesus ??”
