Artist Spotlight: GARRETT PAKNIS

Straight from New York, GARRETT PAKNIS is slowly but surely taking over the European electronic music scene. With his unique sound, voice, and iconic personality, PAKNIS has been “moaning poetry” into microphones since his teenage years, and brings a soulful energy to his house-infused dance music which contains raw and vulnerable, conscious lyricism.

Born in Summit, New Jersey and raised in New Vernon (Harding Township), New Jersey, GARRETT has been writing poetry since he was seven years old and got his start in the entertainment industry in New York City when he was just fifteen. He spent the next decade of his life working as a model, actor, and photographer, and even wrote a book in his 20s.

After two years spent living in Berlin, focusing on his music career, he relocated to London and is now conquering the UK with his talent, passion and determination.

LIKE THE MOON (2020)

Released on June 12th 2020 on Soul Gold Records, LIKE THE MOON is an 8-track mixtape that includes some of GARRETT’s most loved songs such as FIRE and PUZZLE, and each track was released with a mesmerizing music video. Starting to be respected and known as an artist with incredible visuals, the artist also launched his very first merch collection.

He has broken 1,000,000 streams on Spotify alone.

New Release

Today, GARRETT PAKNIS releases his first ever cover - of Britney Spears' iconic 'CIRCUS' and it's a vibe.

“I wanted to give the track a new life with a male singing it, and turn it into an electronic sort of banger.” -GARRETT

PAKNIS has been fully writing and releasing his original music for years, but wanted to release his first ever cover just for pure fun. With the state of the world and so much going on in our new realities, we all need music that can give us easy relief.

Though his own music is house, electro and garage-infused, Paknis grew up, like so many others, loving Britney Spears when she was the iconic performer that she was, and wanted to pay tribute to the original pop princess.

If you wanna keep an eye on what this guy is up to - like you should - you can follow him on Instagram (where he is killing it!), Facebook and Spotify!
